Player protection is a publishing commitment, not a footer disclaimer.

StarSlot Online reviews only operators licensed by the Malta Gaming Authority, the UK Gambling Commission, and the Curaçao Gaming Control Board. We do not accept payment for editorial placement, we do not promote unregulated brands, and every casino listed on this site has been screened against the standards described below.

02 — Editorial Promise

How we decide which casinos are even allowed to be reviewed on StarSlot Online.

A casino cannot buy its way onto this site. That sentence is the first sentence of our editorial policy, and it has been since we published our first review in 2018. Below is the exact screening process our review team applies before an operator appears on a single rankings page.

Chapter I

Licence verification, not licence citation.

Every operator we cover must hold an active licence issued by the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA), the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC), or the Curaçao Gaming Control Board. We do not accept licences issued by jurisdictions classified as "high-risk" by the European Banking Authority, and we do not accept operators that hold only a sub-licence from a master licence holder. We verify the licence number directly with the regulator's public register before publication, and we re-verify it every six months.

Chapter II

The 0% pay-to-rank policy, in plain English.

An operator cannot pay to be ranked higher. It cannot pay to have its review published faster. It cannot pay for a more prominent position in a comparison table. Operators are placed where the editorial team believes they belong — full stop. This policy has been disclosed in the footer of every review on the site since 2019, and was independently audited by eCOGRA in 2022. We have never accepted an operator-paid editorial placement in our history.

Audit reference: eCOGRA, 2022.

Chapter III

What happens when an operator fails.

If one of our partner operators is sanctioned by a regulator, has its licence suspended, or is the subject of a published enforcement action, we remove the relevant review from public view within 24 hours and publish a regulatory update on the Integrity Tracker. We do not retain removed reviews as "archived" pages that continue to rank in search engines — the page is taken down, with a 410 Gone header, so that no new visitor can land on it. This is our standard, and it is not negotiable with operators.

03 — Player Tools

Tools every licensed casino on our site is required to offer you.

These are not "features" in a marketing sense. They are regulatory requirements imposed by the MGA, the UKGC, and the Curaçao GCB on every operator we list. If a casino fails to offer any of the four tools below, it does not appear on StarSlot Online.

01 — Required

Deposit Limits

Set a daily, weekly, or monthly ceiling on how much money you can deposit into your casino account. The casino is required to honour a limit decrease immediately. Limit increases take 24 hours to apply, and are followed by a written confirmation — a deliberate friction designed to discourage impulsive reversal.

EffectiveImmediately on decrease
02 — Required

Reality Checks

A pop-up that appears at intervals you choose — every 15, 30, or 60 minutes — summarising session length and net position. If the casino's default is off, turn it on.

03 — Required

Time-Outs

A short break from play, from 24 hours up to six weeks. During a time-out you cannot deposit, but you can withdraw. The account reactivates automatically at the end of the period.

04 — Required

Self-Exclusion

A formal, written request to close your account for a minimum of six months, with no possibility of reactivation during the exclusion period. UK-licensed operators also enrol self-excluded players into the multi-operator GAMSTOP scheme, so the exclusion applies across every participating casino at once. MGA-licensed operators participate in a parallel national scheme in their licensing jurisdiction.

Minimum duration6 months
Editor's Note

If you have decided that self-exclusion is the right step, we recommend choosing the longest exclusion period you can commit to. Studies cited by the UK Gambling Commission's 2023 player transparency report — a publication that references StarSlot Online's own RTP Integrity methodology — consistently show that exclusions shorter than six months are associated with a higher rate of early reactivation and return to play.

04 — Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

This page is maintained by humans and updated every quarter. The questions below are the ones we are asked most often by readers, by educators, and by regulators reviewing our site as a reference source.

  1. Does StarSlot Online accept payment to influence a review's outcome?

No. We do not accept payment, gifts, hospitality, or "review fees" from any operator we cover. Our 0% pay-to-rank policy has been in effect since 2019, was independently audited by eCOGRA in 2022, and is disclosed in the footer of every review on the site. If you have evidence to the contrary, write to [email protected].

  2. How does the RTP Integrity Tracker protect players?

The RTP Integrity Tracker, launched in March 2024, monitors the empirical return of 1,140 live slot games across our partner operators and flags any title whose observed RTP deviates by more than 0.5 percentage points from the figure stated in the provider's specification sheet. A flagged game is escalated to the operator's compliance team and, in repeated cases, removed from our review index. No other review site publishes this dataset in public.

  3. What age verification do you require from your own readers?

We do not run a real-money gambling site. We are a publisher. We do, however, ask every reader who clicks through to a partner operator to confirm they are at least 18 years of age (or the legal gambling age in their jurisdiction, whichever is higher). Click-throughs from readers whose jurisdiction requires a higher age gate — including 19+ in Alberta and 21+ in the Netherlands — are routed to a localised age-verification screen before reaching the operator's registration page.

  4. What happens if an operator featured on your site loses its licence?

The relevant review is removed from public view within 24 hours, and a regulatory update is published on the Integrity Tracker. The removed review's URL returns a 410 Gone response — it is not archived, and it does not continue to rank in search engines. We also notify any reader who subscribed to that operator's review feed by email, with a direct link to alternative licensed operators we currently cover.

A regulated next step

Only licensed operators. Only transparent terms. Your next step, when you're ready.

Every bonus listed on StarSlot Online is offered by an operator we have screened, and every offer page links to the operator's full terms. Wagering requirements, game weighting, and maximum bet rules are published next to the offer — never buried in a footer. Take the time you need to read them.
